*Today we enjoyed breakfast with the Spencer's before they took off to school and work. We then made the daring adventure to Hana. It took us 2 hours of straight and winding roads, but was filled with beautiful scenery. It was the perfect and most recommended way to Hana. It was the better and quicker way to get there especially since we left from Kula. While there, we made it to Hana Bay.
*We then ate Korean Chicken and Loco Moco plates at a wagon off the side of the road.
* Then, we hit the beach at a surf spot Jason found from a friend. I took some photo's for Jason and when pau, we took Nanea in the tide pool for a dip.
*We headed back home the same way we came in at stopped at Longs for some snacks in Kula. We tried going to Kamehameha Maui to look around, but got rejected at the guard gate.*Next stop, Ku'au/Pa'ia where my Granny, Beatrice Kahanu's house is and where my Papa George still lives. It's actually in Ku'au and we went there during New Years to visit. I haven't been back since she passed way in 2002. We ate dinner with Papa George and had a look around. I was so happy to know the place hadn't changed much. Everything is basically the same as I remember. The beach is more washed out, but it's still beautiful to me. The ashes of my Granny and my Uncle Gerry were scattered there in the bay. This was the main thing that I wanted Jason and Nanea to come to.
*Next, we went to Kahului to book a room to Lahaina Inn at Starbucks. We went to check in only to find that Lahaina Inn didn't have what we had paid for. So, I addressed this issue with the receptionist and they relocated us to Lahaina Resort located at Ka'anapali for the SAME PRICE and more that what we wanted! Not bad for our first full day in Maui.
