February

  • 7th (Saturday) Celebrated valentines day early with Jason. We went to watch The Hobbit at dole cannery. Our love has grown throughout the years of marriage and we really celebrate our friendship daily so valentines is not just once a year for us. Peaua's watched the kids for us. This was quite a treat. It is a very rare occasion for us to get time to just ourselves. The Hobbit is also a series of movies that we have actually enjoyed watching together too. We had to go to Dole Cannery since it was the only and last movie theatre playing the movie.
  • 10th (Tuesday) Jason and I went to the temple in the evening to perform sealings. It was beautiful. I feel the spirit so strongly when we are in the temple as we seal families together who have been waiting so long to be together.
  • 11th (Wednesday) daddy, Hali'a and Nanea flew home to NZ to visit family and friends. Baby and I are staying home for school. Ashlee DeCaires agreed to watch baby for me while I had class in exchange for spending time with them and buying groceries! While they were gone, baby and I visited tutu and cousins quite a bit and then other friends too.
  • 14th (Saturday) watched the Peaua kids while Uila and Moa went to do sealings in the temple then went to watch the movie Meet the Mormons at the temple visiting center with them and baby, my valentines date. We ended up having dinner at Surf-n-taco's too. I really enjoy having them home. The kids absolutely love playing with their cousins.
  • 15th (Sunday) Met up with Rachel Smith, her son Zeke and father, Ziggy with at the Campbell's house. This was the first time we were able to meet Zeke and Ziggy.
  • 16th (Monday) Played beach volley with friends at Chuns Reef. Uila came with family. We played a game together against Courtney and Puna Chai. We met up with them again at Temple beach and played with them for a while. Zeke loved the water and Tairāwhiti loved the sand. We caught up with them and learned how their life has been while Ziggy has been playing football in Detroit for the Lion's.
  • 18th (Wednesday) got to meet up with Cheka and Maki Hohaia and their son Jamel who came in to town for the burial of his mother Manerva. They are very good friends we have had since living in R-building at TVA. Jason and Maki were in the same Social Work program together. Cheka is one of the first people who looked after Nanea while we were both in school.
  • 19th (Thursday) Did my visit teaching with my companion.
  • 20th (Friday) Made ti-leaf leis for Maki's mom. I was able to make two ti-leaf leis for them to put in her grave. Wasn't able to make it to the burial, but baby and I did go over to their vacation rental for a feed and quality time with them. Roo and Kaniela came over too. Started helping Kyla catch up on some home/classwork.
  • 17th (Tuesday) Took baby to the hospital for his congestion and wheezing. Very grateful that he was able to get the proper medication attention he needed. That night, I asked Maki to give him a blessing since Jason wasn't home. I remember Maki coming over often to help Jason give me and Nanea blessings when we lived at BYUH. I am grateful that he honors his priesthood power.
  • 21st (Saturday) Visited brother and sister  Thompson with baby. She had a mini stroke in Thursday. Been helping Kyla catch up her studies. In NZ Jason and the girls were in Chantel Panui and cousin Jamaal Maere's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding.
  • 25th (Wednesday) Celebrated Erin Campbell's birthday with her and a few other mommas on the Zipline!!! Teisa Kaka was so nice to watch after baby for me. It was so much fun. Then went to the College of Engineering College Fair. This was the first time I really felt the confirmation of our graduate studies paying off. People (employers) actually looked at me seriously. They actually cared. I was able to witness on paper how my Masters Degree can literally increase my starting salary by $5-10,000. I'm so happy and grateful for the time we have invested for the future of our family.
  • 26th (Thursday) Went to the temple to do intiatories while Sara Periton looked after baby for me.
  • 28th (Saturday) Jason came home with the girls! I truly missed my family. It was not the same without them. While I did enjoy the quality one-on-one time I had with baby, both he and I missing his sisters and daddy. It is such a blessing to have a worthy Priesthood holder in the house. Yes, my house was clean and we got to sleep more, but it was also empty. Now it's back to catching Jason up with his school work.
