May

  • 1st (Thursday) We were all wasted from a long day at the hospital so we just tried to get some rest.
  • 2nd (Friday) Jason went to his practicum to make up hours missed on Wednesday. Nanea and Hali'a went the dr. Hali'a (Weight: 22.6 pounds) for a follow-up and Nanea (32 pounds) for on coming symptoms (runny nose, cough and fever). We tried to do the preventative treatment before it got worse.
  • 6th (Tuesday) Last day of class for mommy. I was also offered a Graduate Research Assistant job by my advisor over the summer, summer employment as an Engineer!!! My first engineering "Job".
  • 7th (Wednesday) Last day of practicum and school for daddy. We finally bought/got our new family car: Mazda 5 for $5,500 Jason also completed his last day of both practicum at Hale o Ho'oulu a me Maoli Ola and school! Nanea hurt her arm while playing at Windward Mall
  • 6th (Tuesday) We finished our last day of school for the year at UH. Jason got into a "fender-no-bender" with a lady talking on her phone who decided file a report even though there were no damages to either car!
  • 8th (Thursday) Jason received the first half $850 of his scholarship from Ke Ola Mau which I s for native Hawaiians pursuing health professions. He'll get the second half next week after completing some more information. I had a day with Hali'a and daddy had a day with Nanea! We went to the beach, rode bike, played at home. They went to his meeting, shopping and to the hospital! Nanea got hurt playing at the playground in windward mall yesterday. She's been very sore and complaining about it so Jason took her to the hospital so we could make sure it was not broken. Tut tried some of her ti-leaf remedies!

  • 11th (sunday) happy Mother's Day dinner with tutu and Pi'i.
  • 16th (Friday) I finally finished my last exam...Summer time!
  • 17th (Saturday) happy 29th birthday Kekai-refer to post
  • 18th (Sunday) happy 19th birthday to Aunty Kyla! We had her friends over for a roast dinner, potato salad and chocolate pie and brownie dessert.

  • 19th (Monday) Had my first meeting at UH.  I've been hired as a Graduate Research Assistant by my Advisor for the summer for a project, Honokowai Dam in Maui. It will be 20 hours a week lasting until September 30th, and paying about $21.30 an hour. This is a blessing in more than one way. 1) It's a steady, additional income for out house, 2) It is my 1st "Job" as an Environmental Engineer, 3) I will gain valuable experience for future references, 4) It is flexible for my family conditions especially because we are due to have baby boy in August.
  • 21st (Wednesday) Jason and I went to the temple to do initiatories while Hali'a napped and Nanea stayed with our neighbor Mariana and Kelea.
  • 23rd (Friday) Prepared dinner for the sister missionaries
  • 25th Keli'i and Megan Crabbe's wedding--Photo booth pictures
  • 28th (Tuesday) Attended the sealing of Jason's friend, RJ. He was also a part of the wedding line. He was a witness in the sealing. We enjoyed a good feed at the Willows where the reception was held.
  • 30st (Friday) received word from family when we woke up that Aunty Hine passed away in Hastings. We had a good cry and prayer that morning.
  • 31st (Saturday) Jason entered into the Pounders Roundup Bodyboarding competition. He entered in the opens category, the last of the day. He made it out of the first heat and into the semifinals because of a draw. The girls had a blast playing on the beach with all the random people. At least it was a nice day and we were kept in the shade most of the time.
