Smith 'Ohana: July 2013

Hali'a:
Weight: 21 pounds

Height: 27.5 inches

Can now hold her feet, roll over on her rights side. She also moves towards things by rocking or pushing off of the ground. She's very content with her tummy time.
She recognizes Jason and me more and when I leave her sight.
She talks more, babbles and even expresses the way she feels with the tone of her voice like smiling and giggling when happy and grunting when angry or mad.
She is very playful and is happy to be a little more mobile.
Will go to anyone as long as she's not hungry or tired.
Absolutely loves the water. Since we've been spending a lot of time at the beach, she's gotten used to the salt water and feeling the sand. She also loves splashing the water with her hands.
Has a pretty normal routine: 6am wake-up and eat, 9am 1st nap, noon 2nd nap, 6ish 3rd nap and 8-9pm sleep for the night. Sometimes she wakes up for a 3 am feed, but most often not.

Nanea:

Weight: 27 pounds

Can select pictures involving action words and understands many actions verbs, matches shapes (circles, squares and triangles), points to more than 7 pictures of familiar objects/people, produces the p, b, m, k, g, w,h, n, t and d sounds clearly. She can also place shapes in peg boards.
Is even more brave in the water especially at Ala Moana with the blow-up tube.
Enjoys playing with all of her cousins.
Is pretty much fully potty trained. She's so cute in her panties.
Is often very hot so spends most of the day in her panties while Hali'a is in her diaper.
She's very helpful with Hali'a and is always concerned about her like a big sister.
Likes to do everything by herself.
likes getting her hair done-tied or braided at sits on her Dora chair patiently.
Likes to brush her teeth and floss.
Says things like: "That's enough" when pulling toilet paper after using the toilet, "I'm pau", "Hurry up" to mommy and daddy,

Mom weight: 147.8 pounds

12.8 pounds left to loose

It's true that it gets more difficult to lose the baby weight after the 1st child. This month has been difficult with family in town because I haven't been on my normal semi-daily run on the bike path, but I have been running with Uila once in a while around Ala Moana, a good 2K.

Thursday, July 4

Keao had to work at 4:30am so mom dropped her off. Everyone rearranged beds and tried to get a good sleep. Mom and Pi'i cooked and prepped food all morning while we all watched kids. Went to the 4th of July Parade in Kailua where we stayed next to the Church offering free shave ice, popcorn, toilet, a/c room and more. We then went to the Smith beach where we beached it, swam, ate, played, etc.

Tuesday, July 2

Mom took girls in to school. We all stayed home to work on ash's gifts. Kekai came early in the morning with the girls. Finished the double batch of laundry soap for everyone here.

In her gift, I made 2 hooded towels(orange with nemo & green with toy story), laundry soap, Kekai a family home evening assignment frame, mom a year round pass to the aquarium.

Had to borrow make keao go get the sewing machine from tutu because mom didn't know where the foot pedal was. Keao and Bronson made dinner and met us at the beach.

Ala Moana around 2:30 & swam. Mahi came to play with the kids with Jordan but he had to leave early. So Mahi built a huge sand pool for the kids.

Jason came to meet us after he finished work. He took off Wednesday, and since he already has Thursday Friday off, he could spend time with everyone.

Ate dinner a la Daniels family: meatloaf, broccoli and bacon salad, rice, leftover Mac salad, homemade bread from papa, Capri sun, green salad, and kit kat salad for dessert.

Ash came at 6pm to finish our family pictures. Mom wanted to do alpha wear for it so she got all the kids outfits. We wanted to do them at magic island but it was roped off, then at the point the kids got bit by red ants, so we ended up on the rocks right where we swim. They came out beautiful and can't wait til get them after edits:)

It was really fun being all together.

Packed up and went home in 4 cars. Moa went straight to sleep with mani and girls. Jason, Pi'i, and Bronson went to watch fast and furious while mom and us kids got to talk. It was nice and quite emotional but well worth it. We didn't get done til the guys got home at midnight.

Late night at 1am. Goin to b a rough morning.

Wednesday, July 3

Everyone very tired from late night. Pi'i and Bronson took girls in to school because they had to help set up the volleyball nets at his school.

Jason dropped Mahi off at the airport to go back to Vegas, and brought back cocoa puff from liliha bakery. Kids ate left over malasadas for breakfast.

Mom went to do her hair after she set-up the "new" water table in the front for mani, kawena, taniora, and nanea.

Moa and I took taniora, nanea, and mani to the Walmart for cash and treats for the kids, Costco for gas, and swap meet for shopping. I got them each a box of goldfish and ring pops. They did very well considering it was quite hot. Luckily I packed a lot of water and jus enough treats. We ended up buying carseat covers for the van(65), earrings for gifts(12), pineapple and mango(9), entrance fee(2), kids shirts(20). By the end the kids were ready, we were going to get some outfits but were in a rush and forgot.

Meanwhile, keao waited for mom to go get her check at the airport. Jason got his car checked at jiffy lube and did a run, then came back home to pick up Kekai.

Met everyone at chuck e cheese in pearl ridge for tons of tokens, pizza and salad. It was definitely entertaining watching chuck e dance. The kids had a blast and pooped themselves out.

Went home, Kekai had a traumatic experience with her car and no gas after mom and keao didn't fill I up. She had nanea, Hali'a, Moana and Mele with her listening to their chuck e cd.

At home, Moa took girls and Jason to pool to cool off, Daniels went to ko Olina, Kekai and her girls stayed home to sleep, and mom and Pi'i went shopping for Fourth of July in laie. Aunty Gwen changed plans and going to Waikiki. We are staying away from there from the traffic and CRowds.

I took mani to swim and tried to have a nap but kept getting woken up by him and milia. Met everyone back at the house and ate meat jun in the front parking lot, tailgate style. Broke down and started packin for tomorrow while, some went to food land for treats, others went to Walmart for an excursion, and rest stayed home to try and put kids to sleep. Full day indeed.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 3

Day 12-Friday, June 29

Mom took keao to work early in the morning and then came back to take girls to school while stayed home with mani.

Kekai and Jason had slept over the night before, so we stayed and packed up.

Met girls at the beach. Mom and Pi'i did BBQ.

Found out Moa's flight got delayed 5 hours so he stayed in the airport. Of course he didn't make Mahi take him to pick up food like I told him to so it made the wait even longer. They got a food voucher for $8 that he used at ruby Tuesday.

Ate dinner around 5pm and went back in the water. Ash went to pick up her husband at work then came back to eat with us.

Dinner menu was a little overboard, but yummy. It was mom and Pi'i's turn, I guess. He volunteered, kind of. I just asked him for BBQ Teriburgers and hot dogs...that's it. On the actual menu was Teriburgers, red and regular hot dogs, chips, potato salad, char siu chicken, teriyaki beef, steak:), water and rice. Ended up getting a pan of rice from a military group that was doing a memorial run for fallen soldiers. They were really nice.

Place was packed for the fireworks.

Me and Kekai ran with mani, hanalei, and nanea for 1 lap and dropped off babies for our own mini-laps. I finished right when the fireworks started and Kekai came in just when they ended. It was lovely!

Packed up quickly to go pick up keao from work at the airport lounge.

Keao went to see here friends at their clothes swap/street garage sale.

Moa was boarding plane as we were leaving the beach. He ended up landing at 3:15am. I went to pick him up and came home to crash. We were both finally able to sleep well after having lonely beds for the last few weeks.

SUNDAY, JUNE 30

Day 11-Thursday, June 27

Packed up everyone to go. Keao had to go to training at 8:30 so me and mani dropped her off and went to liliha bakery for hot cakes:) oh how I love liliha bakery.

This was his first time.

Then we went to park at mom's work while I walked to kawaiha'o plaza to register milia and mani for ho'olu database.

Visited mom in her office quickly.

Went to pick up girls at punahou early so we could park and let mani play at the park. He is actually pooping in this picture. Lol!

Went to pick up milia at maryknoll. She had a bloody nose on the playground today cause she was playing hide-n-seek and bumped heads with Logan Souza.

Met Pi'i at the beach in our new spot.

Girls went straight to swimming. Saw Aunty Ingrid lee and Adam and charmay at the beach.

Ran in the blazing sun. Actually had to walk few minutes cause I was dying!

Picked up keao from her training while mom and Pi'i and Moana got pizza from Costco for dinner. Excited for Moa to get here.

THURSDAY, JUNE 27

Day 10-Wednesday,June 26

Sent everyone off for school. Cleaned up and prepped for beach. Keao woke up at 10:30. Couldn't pick up a flight to work so we got some qt.

Went to mitzu-ken. Yummy!

Beach time. Had lunch (musubis and garlic chicken), then swim.

Mom went to dentist to pull teeth but ended up not. After that, Pi'i's car was having problems with the light not going off, so they went with mani to Kaneohe to fix it while me keao and the girls stayed and ate dinner (Chinese chicken salad) at the beach. I ran ala Moana and magic island. Felt good and strong, while keao did dinner with the girls in our new spot.

Got home at 8

Day 9-Tuesday, June 25

Kekai slept over. We went to Walmart and food land to do some food shopping while mani stayed home with Pi'i. Ate McDonald's breakfast:)

Kekai went back home and Pi'i, mani, and I went to pick up keao from the airport. She worked the Auckland flight.

Went to Costco to finish food/laundry soap shopping.

Came home and did homework and reading.

Kids were driving each other nuts so mom and Pi'i took them to pool while I ran the medium loop after dinner (spaghetti and garlic ranch bread). Mom ended up teaching the girls a synchronized swimming routine. Milia did awesome keeping up with the big girls.

Day 8-Monday, June 24

Went to walmart early to get a white tshirt for milia to tie-dye at school for Independence Day and ponchos for Moana and Mele for their field trip to Lyon arboretum. Kekai came early so I could watch nanea and Hali'a while she went to her vertigo therapy at 8am. Made laundry detergent for her and mom/Pi'i.

Day 7-Sunday, June 23

Went for walk. Ended up raining quite a bit but it was refreshing. Mani walked the last portion.

SATURDAY, JUNE 22

Day 6-Saturday, June 22

Garage sales in the morning. Drizzles.

Came home with smiths and ate lunch then took naps. Thank goodness.

Bubbles, planting, outside play with tutu and uncle Pi'i. They took mani shopping to get rolly Spider-Man bag.

Dinner-tune rice green beans

Planned to go for walk but opted for Leonard's malasadas instead;) saw jarom and Kelly Kitashima there.

Day 5-Friday, June 21

Mani had rough night. Stayed up or 2.5 hours screaming for dad. Ended up calming down with goldfish in milk. And slept with Pi'i at 4am. Then was up wide awake at 6.

Mom and Pi'i took girls in. Me and keao stayed home with Kekai and Jason. They left and keao got ready to work her flight.

Met Pi'i and girls at Waikiki aquarium for lunch (sandwich rolls, Doritos, and left over desserts)

He didn't like the shark tank or going into the bubble where u feel like ur in it. He was soooo loud in there. And actually said "what da het!" In excitement. Wonder where he got that from...

Mom met us there. Then went to ala Moana. This is a pic I apparently took when I ran. Also ran into Aunty Lenny, Logan and his 2 boys, jadey, Gordy's wife and their 2 kids. Running felt a lot better than at the beginning o the week

Girls ended up playing with surf board and practicing standing up. Mani played in sand with Mele.

Showered before got really cold. Ate dinner (tacos)

Waited for the fireworks that went off at 7:40-:45. Worth the wait and cold. It goes off every Friday night at the Hilton, so we turned around and watched from our camp out.
