Hali'a weighs: 18 pounds 5 ounces
Height: 25.75 inches
She is:
*Sleeping less and talks more. She went on her first trip down to NZ this month. It seems that while in NZ she grew so much physically and socially. She is more attentive and alert. No matter how tough or rough Nanea is with her, she never complains. She absolutely loves her sister. Daddy has been able to spend more time with her and knows how to entertain her more. She is still only breastfed which is good for me, but she is definitely eating more. Hali'a sleeps even longer through the night waking up at 5am for a feed and sometimes just staying up and ready to play. Hali'a also talks a lot more. Grandma especially enjoyed that before we left. She does this thing with her tongue when she talks. She's extremely ticklish all over. I think she's teething which is why she's biting and chewing her hands more. She discovered her hands and can lift things to and inter her mouth now. She also loves blankets and needs one sometimes just to settle and go to sleep. It was cute to see her all bundled in winter clothing while in NZ. She did get sick with the HFMD but since she's breastfed, it wasn't so bad. She had a fever, diarea, an uncomfortable trip home with a loss of appetite, a little red spots on her front, mouth, ear and blisters on her fingertips and toe, but all was better after.
Nanea weighs: 27 pounds
She is so clever and very talkative especially for her age. It's getting easier to understand her, but with that comes the ever so love phrase "I don't want to/that." She seemed to pick this up on the trip to NZ. She absolutely loved playing with her Smith and Daniels cousins and Aunties and Uncles and Grandma and Papa. Nanea is such a happy spirit that lights up the room. She gives the best hugs and is an awesome greeter to all. Nanea is so observant to the point that she likes to breastfeed her doll and put it to sleep with a blanket. She's now potty trained and can actually hold it until we get to a toilet. We just put a diaper on while she sleeps because I couldn't be bothered washing soiled bedding over and over. She still loves the beach. She can identify clothing items for different occasions, engage in simple make-believe activities, tell experience using jargon and words, imitate 4 word phrases, sing phrases of songs, imitates 3 block train using cubes, cut with scissors, engage in parallel play, say no but submit anyways, experience a srong sense of self inmportance. She can: match primarycolors, identify body parts with their functions, identify objects with their use, match identical pictures and objects, is possessive with loved ones, meets more people, relates best to familiar adults at a time, and values her own property using the word 'mine'.
Mommy weight: 149.6 pounds
14.6 pounds left to lose
This month has been busy since we went to NZ and we watched Kawena as well. It was a challenge watching all 3 and more sometimes, which has helped me to adjust and appreciate just my 2 children. I slacked off on the running in NZ and focussed on the sleeping since Hali'a woke up more throughout the night to eat. These two give Jason and me so much joy because we really are watching them grow right before our eyes.
