3rd Anniversary!

It's that time again.  We've made it 3 years and counting.  This year, we actually celebrated with Aunty Monna and Kalei DeCaires at a PCC buffet.  We then cruised around with Grandma and Papa.  Since we fell asleep early with Nanea in Mililani, Jason and I went for a movie date on the 19th to watch Breaking Dawn Part 2.

Kekai: I have learned more about my self, my husband and my daughter this year than ever. While things haven't always been absolutely easy, I can absolutely say that my life is the best it has ever been in my whole life and I am so much better off now off than I could have ever planned it to be thanks to meeting my perfect husband Jason.  He brings out the best in me.  He keeps me grounded.  He makes me happy.  And, he allows me challenge myself.  I am so grateful for him and his ability to keep perspective of the important things: family, health, church.  I am absolutely proud of him and have been blessed with the opportunity to witness his growth academically.  I have also been granted the chance to care after my beautiful Nanea Mahinarangi who is such an intelligent, curious, determined, and fun daughter.  She and Jason have cared for me and taught me more about my strengths and weaknesses and have made me a better person.  I have also been blessed with another challenge of carrying another daughter, which was a little unexpected because I really thought that my last semester of school would be nice and simple.  But, we welcome her with open arms and can't wait to see her, January 12th (or whenever she comes).

Jason's reflection of 2012

2012 for me has been a milestone in my life for accomplishment based on the fact that "WE DID IT!" Haha, we FINALLY graduated from college after all the in n out games we have both play with being students. This year i can honestly say that i think i was finally getting used to studying and doing assignments. Even though at the end i was doing all-nighters, it was a huge improvement from the beginning of married life where writing a one page response seemed impossible for me to complete by myself and im sure my wife will appreciate that more than anyone. I enjoyed the Social Work program at BYUH. The class that graduated in april was a pretty comfy group to be able to work with and im sure that we'll all catch up at some time in our lives. Our Move from R-225 over to W-230 was a memory well worth its hassle of cleaning and gave us the chance to host Mum and Dad, Kris and Chantel, Rj Wihongi, and on occasion Ash and Hanalei and others?! It was cool living across from Otis and Bec's and their 5, Jimbob and Sanoe and there 4, David, Taufa and Avagail and others. Some of my highlights were BABY Number two in the way, Nanea's calling out the window and across the parking lot every-time i came home it was "HIIIIIIIIIII!!! Daddy", Nanea's Incy wincy spider, spending time as a family, doing Te Manahua with my wife together, Learning from BYUH Photography class, Internship at QLCC, working with the Lo'i in Wailua - Na mea ku pono and surfing Off The Wall, Backdoor and the North Shore. Small inventory checklist for 2012. I think i had 8 Bodyboards, 4 surfboards and like 8 pairs of fins. Loved 2012. Peace.

Congratulations to US!

After both starting the journey in 2003, after a mission, after marriage, 1 daughter and another on the way, the time has finally come. Jason graduates with a Bachelors of Social Work with a Minor is Sociology and I graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering! Mahalo to all of the people who have supported us (watching our daughter while we were in class and or were studying: Tutu, Uncle Pi'i, Grandma, Papa, Aunty La, Aunty Cheka, Aunty Ashley and Hanalei, Hingano 'ohana, Aunty Ruth, and sooooo many more people). We couldn't have done it without you all. We have been so blessed to have received financial support from Kamehameha Schools, Kua'ana, Pell Grant and all the other scholarships we've received to leave us without any debt, which is such a miracle.
*14th (Friday)-So we celebrated the night with the College of Engineering Convocation. Here I received my Engineering ring and we had a nice dinner.  This way Jason, grandma and papa were able to come to my graduation.

*15th (Saturday)-This is how graduation day went down since we both graduated on the same day at the same time.  I went to UH with mom at Pi'i.  My ceremony started at 9am. Jason, grandma, papa and Nanea stayed here for Jason's graduation.  We met up in Kane'ohe for a feed at a Chinese restaurant and met up with family from both sides: Koa, Kalei, Aunty Gail and Uncle Curtis Crabbe and Taj, Aunty Peaches and La.
