*1st (Thursday)-La'ie here we come! We finally moved out to the country, La'ie. We live at our new humble abode on Naniloa Loop. The perk of living out here is that our neighbor is the La'ie Temple! It's beautiful to wake up to. We live here with my cousin, Koa, in one room and another roommate, Chris. This is our temporary home as we await married housing at BYU's finest, Temple View Apartments (aka. TVA).
*4th (Sunday)-Happy Easter with the Smiths-after watching morning General Conference online, we headed to the Smith house and enjoyed imu cooked chicken, kalua pig, vegetables, poi, poke, somen salad, cookies, ice cream/brownie bars, and more! We were stuffed. We also enjoyed an Easter Egg hunt with 3 other couples. Jason found the lucky eggs with both $20 and $5. I found the $5 egg and won 3 picture frames. The Easter Bunny was very generous to us newly weds. We then headed to the Crabbe home for the night.
*6th (Tuesday)-12th, Monday Work paid for me to go the Merrie Monarch. I also received a call from the Dr.'s informing me that we ARE EXPECTING a BABY! I then called Jase and told him over the phone since I had just arrived in Hilo.
While there I was able to:
(Wed) Go off-roading up Mauna Kea
(Thurs) Visit black sand beach at Kalapana with Aunty Karla and 'ohana
(Fri/Sat) Watch the 'Auana and Kahiko competition and cheer on Jerome Perry, my cousin's husband, who danced and won with Ke Kai o Kahiki of 'O Brian Eselu. Also teach a hula, Hi'ilawe to a group of Japanese kumu.
(Sun) Go to Church and have dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Calles in Keaukaha.
Below-Reunited after a week away from each other. Happy parents too!
*9th, Friday- Meanwhile, Jason spent quality time with his cousin taking her round the island surfing. Also, Jason got a job, working valet at Turtle Bay!!! What a great blessing!!
25th Sunday-We were invited to Cousin Sonny's and the Campbell's home to enjoy some Maori bread and a NZ feed with Jase's high school friend Sheldon and his 'ohana. Yummy!!!
