Tairawhiti 5 months

This boy is always so happy he can brighten anyone's day. He's big and has discovered how to flip from his tummy to his back. He can touch his toes laying on his back and roll to the side. He can see things at a farther distance. He enjoys playing in his chair with his toes. He knows when he's going to sit in his car seat. As always he likes to study faces, like mine when he's nursing. Still goes to anyone and likes to face out looking around.

Kids sick continued

Finally decided to check all of the kids into kapi'olani hospital to figure out why this sickness hasn't gone away.
-asthma treatments for all. They sat so well through the first treatments
-chest X-rays for all
-girls have fevers Nanea 101.8 degrees and Hali'a 102.5 degrees
And the results are:
Tairawhiti-cold with wheezing. Tested negative on urine test. He should be at the end of his sickness. Nothing bad in his lungs.
Hali'a-fever. Some pneumonia in the left lung so she'll get antibiotics-amoxicillin. Urine test was negative.
Nanea-tests positive for flu. Gotta take meds to keep the flu symptoms down. She should have fever for at most 5 days.
Now we just have to worry about her spreading the flu to everyone else in the house including ourselves.

Happy 2nd Birthday Hali'a

Our #2 is 2 today. She has added a new dimension to our family. Very strong, determined personallity, miss independent, but is also very forgiving, quick to love those she wrongs. She looks up to her older sister Nanea and is very gentle with her younger brother. We love this beautiful girl. She is so fun and a very quick learner figuring things out early on her own like getting our of her crib, out of the high chair and many other things like the stroller and the car seat. Still our early bird waking up 1st hungry and actually constantly hungry. She'll go to anyone with food. She climbs all over me often. She's my motivation to run because she literally loves going on a stroller ride while I run with her sister or brother. We're so blessed to have her in our lives. Happy birthday Hali'a Mārama Smith

Potty training Hali'a! Jan 1st

So we bought Hali'a panties for Christmas. Now that she'll be 2 this month and we're still on holiday, thought it would be a good time to potty train her. She has actually gone a few times before taking a shower and tells us after she's peed or pooped so she's ready. Plus, I'm totally over buying lots of diapers and cleaning her #2's
Day 1-  So today we put her in panties and took her toilet about every hour. She went the first time. Next while jase and I were caught in conversation outside by the cars and she peed on the concrete. Inside the house I found a few wet spots and realized she had starts there, stopped, ran outside and finished. Gave her a rinse off with the hose and back to panties. Put diaper on. Later she walked outside, opened her legs and peed in the diaper.  So I'm glad that she associates toilet with outside so that I don't have to clean up her mess!
Day 2- changed her into panties after #2. She did good going almost every hour. Never fave a fight to sit on toilet. Even left the house in the evening and she had no accident.
Day 3- woke up and put panties on her. She's actually telling me when she needs to go toilet and she actually uses it when she goes. Now I just need to pay attention to her cues.
Besides nap time, night sleep and outings she's got panties on! Yay!
