VB with Daddy

Nanea can do this for ages.  She has good coordination and enjoys rolling the volleyball with daddy.

March

*1st (Thursday)-Filed our taxes. We should be getting another good return. This year we didn't use Turbotax because they ripped us off last year. Instead, my moms coworker helped us out and got us a better return. We also finished our FAFSA paperwork. We are happy to know that our EFC is 0! This will help us qualify for all of our scholarships again.
*3rd (Saturday) Jason and I went to the temple and did a 7am Endowment Session while the Day's watched Nanea for us. We have made a goal to attend the temple twice a month rather than once. We need to take advantage of living right next to the temple. I am also going to start blogging these events for us and so that our children know how important it is to us.
*4th (Sunday) Our stake presidency changed. President Meha was released with Brother Casey and Brother Elder Gonzalez from the 70 came to call our new Stake Presidency, President Grace.
*9th (Friday) La'ie flooded. Roads were closed so I got to stay home with Jase and Nanea. Jason's classes were cancelled.

*10th (Saturday) Celebrated Nanea's 1st birthday early.
*13th (Tuesday) Nanea's 1st birthday. Since we week was very hectic, we had a simple cupcake for her to dive into. She was so cute we had to record it.
*15th (Friday) Jase and I went to watch Mahi play at Gordon Bierch at the Aloha Tower with Cheka and Maki. Nanea stayed with Tutu and Uncle Pi'i in Mililani since he played from 9pm-12:30am.
*17th (Saturday) Jase went to Kahuku ER to check out his knee he hurt while bodyboarding.
*18th (Sunday) Had dinner with Jermaine, Teisa and the girls.
*21st (Wednesday) Nanea had her 1 year well baby Dr. check up. We also went to the Campbell's home to pay respect and celebrate the life of Boydie Campbell with other Maori in the community.
*22nd (Thursday) Submit Kua'ana Scholarship application for next year. Sold Nanea's 1st baby car seat for $20! This was her first time in it...
*26th-30th I had spring break and spent time home with Nanea and Jason all week. Time was spent sleeping, going to the beach and hanging out with friends.
*29th (Thursday) We went to the temple to do Initiatories while Veronica watch Nanea for us.
*31st (Saturday)-April 1st (Sunday) 182nd General Conference. The luxury of living here at BYUH is that we can watch conference on the BYUH channel.

Beach Holiday

Holiday today...we went to Castle's. Nanea really loves and has missed the beach so we spent a good time with her in the water and on the beach. She wants to surf like daddy already.

Biggest Looser

April 24th (Saturday) Jase has entered an 8 week weight loss challenge with Seamus, Kimo, David and Uria. With a $30 deposit, the winner will win $150.  Jason better win!!!  They will weigh in every 2 weeks to track their progress and keep each other motivated.
These are motivation pictures:
 Here are before pictures:

May 19th (Saturday) After 8 weeks, Jason WON loosing a total of 25 pounds! He now weighs 205 lbs!  What was his secret? Well nothing really.  Jason just ate less by eating smaller portions (not staving himself). I didn't cook as much because that's why he's picked up some weight.  He cut out a lot of rice.  He started playing basketball once in a while and went on a few run's to Gunstock, sometimes with Nanea and sometimes alone.
Here are the after pictures:

Nanea 1 Year Old

Time has absolutly flown by. It has been 12 months since our beautiful daughter was born. Today we celebrated her birthday more simply opening birthday gifts, she spoke with a lot of family thanks to skype, and she ate a cupcake that we baked for her. Uncle Koa came by to wish her a happy birthday.
Nanea:
*can walk along all of the furniture and stand on her own.
*is more expressive in what she wants, likes and dislikes.
*got a new car seat for $10 at a garage sale! She can now face forward riding in the car.
*likes any and all music. She loves her music book.
*likes to unplug and plug the bath tub water.
*still wakes up at a few times every night, we're still trying to figure it out.
*is good with her night routine. She now goes to sleep pretty much by herself in her crib.
*has the cutest "hula hand" wave.
*blows kisses and waves to say "hello" and "good-bye".
*is like her daddy, an animal lover. She points out all of the birds and likes to play with any dog that comes our way.
*thinks many things are phones and tries to talk to people.
*knows how to and when skype is on. She loves looking at herself and who ever is talking to her on the screen.
*likes computers since mommy and daddy are always on them. She tries to type any time she can get her hands on the keyboard.
*has started feeding herself. Her favorite food is rice and anything that others are eating. She is getting a little more selective now. But, she knows what cookies are and likes to eat them with milk. She doesn't get this often, so when she does, she takes advantage.
*enjoys playing with her new birthday toys like her phone from grandma.

We love her sooo much!

Nanea Birthday Party

Today we celebrated Nanea's 1st birthday even though her birthday is in 3 days. This was her invitation that we sent out. Several people came and we enjoyed each other's company. We had games for the kids to occupy themselves: sugar cookies to decorate, bubbles, coloring and balloons. After the crazy weather we've been experiencing, especially yesterday's flood, I emailed and was able to gain permission from the Stake to use the Cultural hall. We were lucky because the wind picked up and the rain came, but we didn't have to worry because we were in the cultural hall. Jason and I hadn't intended for this party to be so big and a hassel, but I think that it all turned out to be just perfect. This kids were confined, content and occupied and we were all dry. I went a little crazy with picture posting just so that 'ohana in NZ can see how much fun and chill the party was.
These are all of the presents Nanea received.
These are messages from 'ohana and friends who could not make it:
