Asthma

After 2 weeks home from New Zealand, Nanea's cough has not cleared; so, we took her to the Dr. today to find out that she's weezing and has Asthma! Not the greatest news, but comforting to know that the problem is. She now has med to care for her illness.

January

*9th (Monday)-We both started school again. Jason is taking 15 credits and I am taking 18 credits. Mum and Dad flew in for vacation to spend with Nanea! They have been such a help and comfort to have around and looking after Nanea while we are in classes.

*15th (Sunday)-Jason was called to be the Elders Quorum President of our Laie 1st Ward of the Laie Hawaii Married Student Stake. This came as a pleasant surprise to the both of us. Maki Hohaia is the 1st Counselor and Darren Day is the 2nd Counselor. Our ward time has been changed to 8am! I was a needed adjustment for us. Nice early morning and perfect time to take a much needed Sunday nap. Mom and Pii came over to hand out.

*20th (Friday)-Happy Birthday to Tutu. We ate lunch and dinner with her and slept over.

*23rd (Monday)-PCC dinner with Mum, Dad, Uncle Hyran, Aunty BJ, Chervronne, Martin, Tanner, Jervonne and Rachel.

10 months

This month has gone by fast especially after a few weeks in New Zealand. Our beautiful Nanea...

*is starting to get some curls in her hair.

*was able to meet all of her whanau in New Zealand and get to know them.

*made her first travel to New Zealand and behaved very well on the airplane.

*has two new teeth totaling 6.

*is more confident in moving around now.

*has started to stand up while holding on to something. She can also walk when someone holds her hands or walks along when holding on to something like the couch.

*likes to dance when any music comes on, which consists of her shaking her hands back and forth.

*also likes to clap when music comes on.

*is more decisive with what she does and does not want like to eat a particular food. She points to what she wants or where she wants to go.

*continues to enjoy and love being in the water, even if it's freezing cold at Raglan or in the pool with cousin Taniora.

*definitely recognizes when skype is on whether we are calling or someone else is calling us.

*now pulls apart her puzzle mat.

*is adjusted back to sleeping in her crib.

*plays patty-cake and like to "mark it with a bee"

*will go to anyone as long as she is entertained, held, fed and mommy and daddy are not around!

*waves hi and bye to people.

*is the such a blessing to us and we love her so much.

Go home

*Finally on our way back home to Hawaii. Nanea was pretty good on the airplane although she didn't sleep as much. Our stroller didn't show up in Hawaii, but at least everything else did. Mom and Pii picked us up.

Back to Auckland

*Our last morning in Hamilton, Jason went to morning ball and I went to the 8am temple session (used Keao's clothes), while Aunty Mahina and Kris looked after Nanea. Had Temple View doughnuts and spent some time with Lian's family, Keao and Taniora. Then, we took off to Auckland with Mahina for our last night stopping at Lilly's shop for some lollies. Jason and I did some last chance shopping and bought a few things.

*We enjoyed a really good feed with Mum, Dad, Aunty Kris and Chantel who brought Keao and Taniora up, Mahina and Persais.

Hamilton Garden

* We went to the Hamilton Gardens. It was beautiful. Nanea was asleep for most of the time, but it was nice to spend some time with each other. Jason especially misses the feeling of "real grass".

*Had a good bakery lunch in Dinsdale.

*Then, Raglan it was on a nice clear day with Uncle Tama's family, Uncle Roman's family, Aunty Naomi's family, Aunty Kris and Aunty Mahina who walked over from some "random beach", and the Daniels.

* Family pictures at the temple as the sun was setting (for good lighting). Everyone was fighting to get a good picture with Nanea, making sure that it was on their "good side" and no double chin.

*Last night of cards all together at Goodwin. Keao came by to spend some time too. Cards didn't officially start until 10:30pm before which it took a while to put the kids to sleep. They watched the movie Cars.
