*2nd (Sunday)-Got together here at TVA with friends after General Conference for a good feed. A lot of salad, BBQ chicken and German Chocolate cake were there to fill us up!
*8th (Saturday)-The best way to spend a Saturday: temple with husband and welcomed back with beautiful baby Nanea.
*18th (Tuesday)-We sold our camper!!! Well, we've just stored it Uncle Hyran Smith's house and someone was interested in buying it. I thought we'd never sell it. It's gone now, $75!!!
*22nd (Saturday)-Game day! Nanea's ready to watch the All Blacks play France in the championship game of the World Cup Rugby...we went to Uncle Hyran's where everyone gather for a hangi and watched the game off of a projector. There were so many people there. The ALL BlACKS WON!!!

7 Months

Our baby girl is growing up so fast.
Nanea is...
*Sitting up much better on her own.
*Has 4 teeth...2 on top and 2 on bottom.
*Has adjusted and doing much better with all those who watch her.
*In now eating rice cereal, but still does NOT like the bottle.
*Loves to stand up when you hold her hands.
*Had her first illness and trip to the hospital.
*Has a new soft mat to help her start crawling. We hope that it will be soon.
*Is demanding more attention and more attached to mommy.
*Likes to touch people's faces as she studies them.
*While feeding likes to kick her left leg. She also likes to flip backwards and look all over the place while feeding.
*Enjoys looking and following daddy around the house upside down.
*Is a very happy and beautiful baby that mommy and daddy enjoy watching grow every day (even though we are tired and stressed with school work).
Nanea makes life so beautiful! We love being parents. Sometimes, we still can't believe that we actually have a daughter.

Day Off

My class was cancelled today, so I get to spend the day home with Nanea and Jase!  Oh, and I still need to get a lot of homework done.  This morning, as usual, Nanea got up and we went for our morning run to Gun Stock and back. It kind of sprinkled rain on the the way, but it was refreshing. Daddy was already up and having a surf! It's his way of getting in some exercise before a long day of school and work.  We had some breakfast and Nanea had some tummy time while I showered...she HATES it, but we're trying to get her to crawl because she's already 6 months going on 7 and not crawling yet. This is what we borrowed from Aunty Teisa Kaka to help her.

Back to school

I've been meaning to add this blog for a while. Jason and I are now fully back in school and boy is it hard and demanding. The addition of Nanea to the family has really changed the entire experience. Before I started school, we tried to establish a routine for her so that we would know what she needs and so that we would be able to get some things done. The main goal was getting her to go to sleep by herself by 8pm latest. This would give us at least a couple of hours to unwind and get some homework done. It has definitely worked. She is like clock work now!

The difficult thing now is figuring out who will watch her throughout the week. Thanks to tutu, Nanea spends Mondays with her. On Wednesdays, Nanea spends time with cousin La. Then the other days, she's either with the Smiths, Ash and Hanalei, Jason, or some other friend of ours. We're trying to get something set up more consistently so that it's not such a scramble.

Cousin Jackson

My Uncle Kamamo came into town to settle some family things with my mother. He's her oldest brother. So, between classes, we went to Ward to hang out with my cousin Dominic and his son Jackson, Nanea's 2nd cousin.

Ice Cream

So, Nanea's rash is not going away. The Dr. said that it will pass, but it is taking a very ling time and we don't like seeing her with it...So, cookies-n-cream ice cream here for the rescue!!! Nanea is getting used to seeing herself in mirrors and her reflection off of things...check her out. She and daddy were skyping mum and dad.
