New Hair!

It's not there anymore...his curls! Jason got a hair cut by Jerome Kaka. He is soooo handsome. I got a hair cut here Laie's salon. Nanea was so good. She sat on my lap and watch the whole process.

August

*9th (Tuesday)-Last day of work at PCC

*22nd (Monday)-Back to school for me and Nanea. Today was an adjustment that may take a while. Nanea will be watched by my mother on Mondays and La on Wednesdays. Otherwise, Bubba, Kelli and Josh will be watching her for me while I'm in class. We had a rough start because the car kind of overheated on the way to school, but thank goodness for the janitor at Ka'a'awa Elementary who helped me get some water in it and running well. It was actually an easy day of class because they were all introductions, but I'm sure that in no time, it will all pick up. We came home early in time to spend more time with Jase! We were welcomed by him, his Birthday card from Mum and Dad, and at wonderful check of for $2,752 from UH, the Manoa Opportunity Grant that I've been awarded!!!

Happy Birthday to Jason!!!!

So his birthday actually started yesterday because according to Jase, he was born in New Zealand and, therefore, technically, he turned 29 yesterday! Smith whanau, as usual, competed to be the first to wish him a Happy Birthday...and Mahina won!!! He got a card a week later from mum and dad. Anyways, Jason woke up to a fun and happy Nanea waiting to play peek-a-boo and then I made him breakfast: pancakes, Portuguese sausages, eggs, rice and toast. We went to church. Then, we were blessed with the presence of cousin Lindy to celebrate with a great dinner: shoyu chicken, rice, potato salad, shrimp, Oreo cheese cake chocolate pudding cake, and Liliha Bakery Chantille cake and ice cream...Now we'll have to work off all that birthday food. I love my husband and know that we have many more years to come and celebrate.

Nanea 5 Months

Nanea now...

*Bites her feet/toes.

*Has even more personality. She loves looking at our wedding pictures on the wall for some reason.

*Cruises with daddy at pounders with an Icee

*Likes going to the beach.

*Has a high screech when she's mad.

*Can now reach for things and hold more things in her hands.

*Recognizes us. She will watch us move around and gets angry when we leave her alone.

*Has many friends that live around here at TVA and loves being outside interacting with others.

*This is how I am woken up by Nanea sometimes. She grunts because she can't figure out how to get it off.
