Pounders Competition

So after several years of getting pounded and hitting the waves at Pounders Beach, Jason finally did it...he entered at body boarding competition! He and Jerome Kaka entered and spent the entire day soaking up the sun and getting pounded even more. Jase came in second the first heat, which advanced him to the semifinals.

The best thing about contests are the free give aways. Leave it to the poor Maori's to get as much free stuff as they could. Jase won a free body board for coming in first in a race! He also climbed a tree for a shirt he couldn't even fit!

Jase was having some fun with Nanea sleeping. She loves sleeping on her tummy, but this was definitely different.

July!

*9th Saturday-Went to Chervronne Smith and Janelle Taufa's baby showers

*12th Tuesday-Jase had his first Ruby scrimmage. He's been practicing every morning from 6-7ish. The game was at Kalihi District Park which is why Nanea and I didn't go and watch, but according to Jase and others, he played well.

*13th Wednesday-Dinner with our neighbors who were leaving soon Telissa and Cory Lehano and Marc Serrao.

*19th Tuesday-Danced on the PCC Hawaii Canoe for President Uchdorf and his 'ohana.

*25th Monday-Curry with the Whippy's

Teething

So Nanea may be teething...so we bought her some teething toys to put in the freezer. She loves the taste, the coldness, and just chewing on it.

Dinner with the Kaka's and Fruen's

The last time we all got together, Peka and I were pregnant. Now with the two additions of Mafa and Nanea, we found it appropriate to gather together for a great feed, music, and movie.

Nanea 4 Months

She has definitely grown! She's in the 100 percentile compared to infants her age!!!

Nanea...

*Recognizes mommy and daddy

*Can follow objects

*Lifts her head up when on her tummy

*Sleeps through the night!!!!

*Has a lot of personality

*Loves playing 'Peekaboo'

*Grabs onto objects...especially soft blankets and her teething toys

*Recognizes food and licks her lips when she sees people eating

*Plays with her tongue

*Blows bubbles with her tongue and makes fart noises too

*Love to be outside and hang out with people

*Will go anyone as long as she's fed

*Enjoys playing with her hands and fingers

*Has discovered her feet and now holds onto them

*Is very attentive and aware of her surroundings

Blankets

Nanea has a thing for blankets. If she's fussy and needs to be settled, we just throw some material on her, like a blanket, and she plays and eats it! It's quite interesting.

Fireworks!

We celebrated 4th of July dancing, playing "Scum", eating good food, swimming and BBQing with Juliana and his 'ohana.

Naleisha and Akila

I was a brides maid in the wedding party of Leisha and Akila. This wedding was perfect for them and the long awaited event to complete the package. It was held at her uncle's house who works for Ka. We spent the day preparing and hanging out together.

While there, Nanea hung out with me a Jase stayed with the Peaua 'ohana. Mahi ended up coming and playing for their entire wedding. He really helped in setting the tone and the stage for the wedding. Uila and I danced hula with her aunty and Moana, Milia and Mele danced a hula too. One of the funny things

is that Akila dropped the ring, his mother dance "`uehe, `umi and slide" and his brother gave the longest congratulations speech.
