Las Vegas

Nanea had her first experience out of Hawaii. We flew to Las Vegas on Hawaiian and she did really well eating and sleeping on the boppy pillow. We visited and stayed with the Peaua's. Aunty Uila, Uncle Moa, Moana, Mele and Milia were so excited to play with and spoil her. Our first full day there, we spent in the pool, shopping at the outlet mall and went to Vegas the Show! for free!

Hakipu'u

The Pacific Voyagers comprise of seven waka haurua (double hauled sailing vessels) of South Pacific islanders. On April 19th they started this voyage from Aotearoa, and are now in Hawai'i. For the 1^st time the Polynesian Voyaging Society has invited PCC to support one of their events. We spent the morning at Hakipu'u/Kualoa with the Maori community to welcome the Maori canoe and others. After a delay in starting Jason performed with the others.

Aunty Lee's Mobile

Aunty Lee sent Nanea a mobile and it has definitely saved us. Nanea loves it and wakes up happily to it. She can look at it for ages and not get sick of it. She laughs while looking at it.

Nanea has discovered how to shuffle around a little and push herself forward and backward. I just left her for a few minutes while taking a shower, and Jason walked in on her looking like this...

Nanea 3 Months

Nanea has grown even more this month. Here are some of the changes that we have experienced:

*She finally sleeps through the night. Occasionally wakes up once a night between 2 and 4 for a feed and falls right back to sleep.

*She has a daily routine of feeding, sleeping, bath time, walking time outside and bedtime.

*Nanea wants to play a lot more now because she is up more throughout the day.

*She can hold her head up so when she's carried she always turns and looks around.

*Nanea likes to be held facing out to look at everything and everyone.

*When in the stroller, she likes looking up at the tree leaves. She also like facing out too.

*Her screaming has more character. It's louder and when she even screeches when really fussy. She wants to be held more too.

*She's discovered her fingers (she sucks on), slowly discovering her feet too.

*Loves her mobile from Aunty Lian.

*Shuffles down from sitting up now so we definitely need to keep her away from the edges now.

*Discovered her tongue which she plays with (I'll leave a video to watch)

*Nanea is just full of personality which grows more and more each day.

*Chills with daddy when mommy is dancing on the canoe. It's her daily field trip outside of the house.

*She is very heavy and filling out more, but we're not sure of her measurements because no Dr. appointment necessary for this month.

We love being parents!

June

*1st (Wednesday) Jason's last day of school! He is now on summer break! We have officially made it through an entire school year. Time has really flown by and now we can enjoy a couple of months off together as a family.

*3rd (Friday) It's official. We have food stamps!!! While some may be embarrassed, we are very grateful and excited. We receive $575 worth of food every month now. We made our first purchase of $153 in groceries of which we paid nothing. We are so blessed.

*4th (Saturday) First day on the job at PCC working on the canoe show.

We went to dinner at Leilei's and the Augie T comedy show with Dest, Kulia, Mike and his wife.

*9th (Thursday) Surprise visit and dinner with Aunty Lisa and Keanu.

*11th (Saturday) Started dancing on the Hawaii boat.

*20th (Sunday) HAPPY FATHERS DAY DADDY!!! Jase got to sleep in while I made some fried rice for breakfast which he loves. He got some new garments and another gift that's still on the way...a camera bag. Of course we spent heaps of time together and then went to Uncle Hyran's for a feed.
