Road Block
There was a water main break at Waiakane, so Nanea had her 2 week check up with Dr. Shlatcher. She weighs a little more than 9 lbs and is 22.5 inches long. We also has a special visit by Aunty Peaches, Gma Calles, La and Aaron. They took turns holding Nanea and took many pictures. I'm sure we'll see them soon on FB.

Her Name!

We chose Nanea before she was born, but we wanted to make sure that she matched Nanea...she definitely does. Nanea is Hawaiian for enjoyable, tranquility, relaxed, at ease amused, engaged with and to have a good time. Mahinarangi is after her Aunty Mahinarangi (Jason's oldest sister) and is a family tribal name of a Maori Princess.

Baby Girl!
She's here, our beautiful baby!!!
Weight: 8 lbs. 2 oz.
Length: 21 inches
Saturday
12:30pm-Checked into Castle Medical Center for an induction.
2pm-started my Petosin, dialated 3cm
Once dilated to 4cm, they broke my water to speed up the process, which is when I asked for the epidural. That was all good, but I could still feel a lot of pressure in my lower back. Baby was pressing against my tailbone.
7am-10cm, fully dilated, so I started pushing. Jason and my mother were there in with me throughout the whole process. I threw up throughout because I was not reacting well to the medication.
9:31am-Finally, after 2 and 1/2 hrs, she came out...Screaming!!! Once they cleaned her up a little, we were skin to skin, and she went quiet.
This was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life, even with the epidural, but I'm grateful that everything went well and was successful and our baby is so beautiful and healthy.
Before...Dr. Tina Doyle
*Our visitors-Jermaine, Teisa and Raglan who celebrated her 1st birthday too!!
*15th (Tuesday)-Time to check out of room 106 and go home!

March
*11th-Our official due date, but no baby yet! We had a tsunami alert so we went up to La's at Kamehameha just in case we went into labor knowing that if we went into labor, we'd have quick access to Castle Hospital. We bought our family car, a 94 Toyota Camry. 122,000 miles on it. We're really happy with it. It's been well maintained and very reliable. Baby and I will be riding it to school daily.
