Portland

I was hired by Lori Higgins to pose as a model for 2 new sculptures. She asked me to do it when I was working at the Merrie Monarch. So here's what I had to do...
*19th Wednesday-Fly from Honolulu (8am) to Seattle Tacoma, Washington, then from Washington to Portland (8pm). Flew all day! What a relief it was to finally check into the guest suite I stayed in.

*20th Thursday-(11am) Started working on the first pose, kneeling and a blowing a conch shell. I had to hold that pose for about 35 minutes while they did the 3D picture taking/scanning. I never knew how heavy my head was until then. Worked for just 3 hours and had extra time on hand...
SO...I went to the Portland, Oregon Temple and attended an endowment session! This temple looks like a beautiful castle! I'm glad I packed my temple clothes for this rare opportunity. Being in there just made me miss my husband more.

*21st Friday-(7:40am) Up and ready to work on the second pose, sanding with an ipu heke. Then I placed my hands into a bucket to clay to make a hand mold for the conch shell (1st pose).

(12pm) Off to the airport to catch my 3pm flight back to Seattle and then to Hawaii by 7:45pm. Since I had a lot of time, I was able to do some shopping for me and my husband.

Here are our welcome home gifts for one another
Nike shirt for Jase, portable back massage machine and beautiful roses for me!

Reunited and loving it!

May

This month started with an unexpected event.
*1st (Saturday)- We had our first official appointment with our Dr. who informed us that I was only 6 weeks pregnant and that our due date would be December 11th.
Then...
*3rd (Monday)- At 12 noon I started having some sudden changes in my body (spotting) and so I called our Dr. We met up with him at 9:15pm, he gave me an exam, and sent us to Castle Hospital out in Kailua. We checked into the Emergency Room around 11pm to find that after more blood tests, urin tests, ultra sound and counsel with the Dr. that we indeed had a miscarriage. We checked out at 3am with a follow-up appointment scheduled with an OBGYN the following day.

This is by far the hardest and most emotional thing that has ever happened to me, but we are ever more grateful for the knowledge of the gospel and the Plan of Salvation. We know that our Father in Heaven has a reason for everything and will never give us anything, trial, that we will not be able to overcome. We have opportunities to always learn and grow from every experience. I am more grateful for an amazing husband who holds and honors his priesthood so humbly. We are even more grateful to know that we have been sealed together as a family for time and all eternity. We know that our Heavenly parents are happy to be with our baby and is giving it all of the love that's deserved. One day we will all be together as one great big family. I am grateful for family and friends who continue to love and support us.

*5th (Wednesday)-NEW COMPUTER! We finally got out new MacBookPro 15" that we ordered from ebay. After 2 weeks of no computer and using (thankfully) cuzin Koa's comp and Jase's phone, we finally have our own...What was the 1st this we did with it? Download Skype to talk with NZ 'ohana. We love them sooo much!
*6th (Thursday)- Our truck got a "face lift" with a re-upholstry of the roof! After $115 it's looking like new.
*7th (Friday)-Hula-la! I had my first dress up party to host of 5 children. As we did for Moana's birthday, I had dress up outfits, paper and straw lei making, and hula lessons with implements. It was a great event and I hope to have more of them. The extra $ is always a help!
*8th (Saturday)-Happy Mother's Day in NZ! We were inspired to skype Mum down in NZ at 8am here...5am in NZ! We knew that she'd be asleep, but as jason would say "we were the 1st to wisht here Mother's Day on the actual day!" (I'm not getting involved with the competition...I'm just the messenger and happen to be the wife!) I also got to talk to Keao and wish here the same...btw, Happy Mother's Day to Lian, Maraea and Baari too! Jason and I celebrated Mother's Day with dinner at Chili's! Mmmmmmmmmm...BBQ ribs, chicken fajita, and molten chocolate cake with ice cream...we left with and food hang-over! I'll definitely have to run a bit more this week!
*9th (Sunday)-Happy Mother's Day here! We went to church here in Mililani 2nd Ward with my mother, enjoyed sushi, Ted's Bakery chocolate haupia pie and vanilla ice cream...then mom, Mahi and I took the BEST Sunday nap while Jase watched Avatar! Later that evening, skyped Keao with mom's new webcam (our Mother's Day gift for the both) and talked with Mum and Dad. We re-invited the NZ 'ohana to the blog!
