Hilo with the Calles'

This year we decided to spend Christmas in Hilo with the Calles 'ohana since Mum flew into town to celebrate with all of her siblings birthdays and Christmas together. It's been more than 42 years since they've all been together, so we didn't want to miss out on the special occasion. This is what we did...
*21st (Tuesday)-Flew stand-by to get to Hilo! After missing 2 flights (starting at 5:45am) we finally got on the 3rd flight at 7:45am. Lindy and Mum picked us up and we had breakfast at Ken's pancake house. Then, we had dinner with all of the Calles' at Aunty Gwens. After several hours, Jase and I finally untangled present decorations.
*22nd (Wednesday)-Surprise!!! Happy 60th Birthday Aunty Peaches and Aunty Gwen! Then, Christmas Caroling.
*23rd (Thursday)-Breakfast at the Maluo's. Jase spent some time with Grandpa. We visited Mum's friend.
*24th (Friday)-Happy 28th Birthday Cousin Aaron and Merry Christmas Eve! We exchanged the $10 grab bags. We made earrings for Aunty Pudge and Jasmyn.

*25th (Saturday)-Mele Kalikimaka! We visited several grave cites: Uncle Willie Kalaniuli (Jase was named after him because he was born 10 years to the day he passed away) Calles, Gma's parents, Uncle Elijah Maluo (Keanu's named after him) and Aunty Jo's parents. Then we finally went in the water, Chock's and Puhi bay. Lastly, dinner at the cousin's house, playing cards!

Happy 1 year Anniversary!

We have officially made it! We've been married for 1 year!

We celebrated by going garage sale shopping, helped the Newton's move stuff out of their TVA apartment, and then ate some really good food at Leilei's.

Kekai:
This year has been a blessing in so many ways. We've been lucky to have been surrounded by good people and have the support of family, friends and loved ones throughout the world who have looked after and supported us. I am so grateful to have a husband who is so humble, patient, loyal, makes me laugh, makes me happy... and is perfect for me. I am so grateful that he honors his priesthood and blesses our family. I am so grateful for the education that we are receiving in order to better our families future. We have had some struggles here and there, but through it all the Lord has been with us and sustained us. I am so excited to be a mother and add to our humble family. I know that Jase is and will be an amazing father. I pray that we may continue on this path being obedient and doing our best to do what's right because it is what has gotten us this far. I hope and pray that we will always remember and cherish the humble beginnings our family has started from and have many more years of special moments. I love husband! I love my babies! I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ!

Jason:
There was a time when I thought that I was happy with everything that I possessed. I lived a simple life full of self-gratification, and no stress. All I was doing was surfing and working, which gave me a lot of time to dream. My dreams have never been beyond reach, seemingly impossible, or even hard to accomplish… that was until I met my wife. We went through what I would consider a lengthy process of exploring our futures before finally getting married in the temple.

Now, that I look back, one whole year later, marriage has been so much more stressful, soo much more time and energy demanding, and definitely a huge adjustment in going from “I” to “we” in every sentence which requires decisions to be made. On the other hand, I have never felt more comfortable, never had soo much attention, never felt so accomplished, never felt so in tune with myself, and never had soo much support as I have over the last year of marriage. Most important of all, I have never felt my heavenly father soo pleased with me and never had a day where my love for my wife has not grown more because I am with her. Love you babe…. Even if you did make me write in this book! :P

Pregnant and Counting

So I've been meaning to put this one together. I wanna record symptoms and changes that have been taking place throughout this pregnancy to measure the progression and for references. So this is how it goes:

Month #1:
*Took 1st home pregnancy test, got another one done for free, and then went to Dr. Shlatcher's where they confirmed the positive reading and we had a couple of weekly check-ups to monitor everything.
*Starting weight 135 lbs
*Decided not to play vb overseas

Month #2:
(August 18th)
*Hot pockets cravings!
*Ate crackers and Siera mist...mmmm...not!
*Very tired and emotional...aka. sook!
*Slept a lot (studied at UH summer school and slept right after my 7:30am class for hours. Then went to sleep at 5pm). Jase wasn't too keen on that, but he was in La'ie studying too!

*Still daily sickness, with more of "bathroom" sessions.

Month #5:

*Still morning sickness.
*Felt baby moving, kicking and all of that sort of stuff. Actually, it felt like baby was working out in there. I couldn't focus in class.
*More and more hungry and need to use the bathroom throughout the night. Having a hardtime sleeping comfortably. Gonna have to lay on my side more and sleep with the eye mask to keepout the lights and sun.
*Gained 5 lbs.
*10/12 We're having a GIRL!
*Starting to have some trouble with tighter clothes, but I've been saved, thanks to Jamie Blake, who gave me all of her maternity clothes (4 bags worth)! I feel like it's Christmas already!
*Got a prescription for nausea
*October 26th-Another monthly check up-gained total of 12 lbs. I weigh 147 lbs now.

(November 16th)
*More nausea and vomiting, not too fun! But, I can eat more now. Don't really have any cravings either.
*Growing out of clothes
*Hair cut!
*Baby is definitely kicking and moving all around. Sometimes she wakes me up in the middle of the night. She also keeps me from concentrating in classes. I can see my stomach jump out while looking at my professors.

*Feb 12-Baby shower! Friends from all over came: Pomahina, Cassie, Shorty, Leisha, Mom, Aunty Gwen, Amy, Ashra, Hitomi, Sanoe, Ashley, Erin, Chevon, Merekete, Rachel and Kulia. Thanks to Merekete, Chevon and Aunty BJ, I had my baby shower at their house and they took care of everything. Mum made some marin chicken and I made potato/egg salad.
*We set up baby's crib and arranged all of her things that we got from the baby shower.

*Sickness returns. After 9 months of it all I have finally figured out some things that upset my stomach: noodles, chile, spicy food, warm drinks, gatorade, dark wheat bread...
*Feb 25th 38 weeks!!! Dr. appointment. I weigh 169 lbs = Total weight gain of 34 lbs. Baby is estimated to weigh 8lbs. I'm having more frequent contractions. I was hooked up to a monitor and we found out that they were about 6 minutes apart. I'm 3 cm dilated. Dr. said to make sure that our bag for the hospital was ready! We packed that night! She can come any day now.
*Mar 4th 39 weeks! Dr. appointment. I weigh 169 lbs still. Not yet ready to give birth.
*Mar 11th 40! FULL TERM and still no popping. I weigh 171 lbs = Total weight gain of 36 lbs. Still not having consistent contractions. May get induced this weekend. Baby is nice and healthy still.
